
Dr Geetha Manjunath’s personal loss of two cousins to breast cancer inspired her to explore whether AI could enable earlier, more accessible detection. Drawing on decades of experience in computing, supercomputing, and data analytics, she co-founded NIRAMAI Health Analytix in 2016. Its Thermalytix technology combines thermal imaging and AI to identify breast abnormalities without radiation or physical contact. The startup has since screened more than 400,000 women across India, demonstrating how research can evolve into meaningful healthcare innovation.
